Stop climate change

Stop climate change
Coal is the worst climate offender
Everyone knows that climate change is real and happening now. What many people don't know is that we have the solutions in our hands. The world needs:
An energy revolution, that lets us quit coal in favour of wind power and solar energy Protection for our forests, so they can continue to clean our atmosphere A switch to natural refrigerants, so keeping our food cool doesn't heat the planet Responsible IT companies who offer climate solutions, and advocate for good environmental laws On these pages you can learn more about the science of climate change, and the impacts it is already causing. You can read our detailed policy briefings and discover politicians, businesses and people can all be part of the solution.

Can Earth Be Earth?

© Garvit Can earth be Earth when all it’s trees are gone, And sudsy waters have become unfit, And poisoned life no longer greets the dawn With raucous sounds that death has caused to quit? Will trees no longer wave, with limbs unfurled, On hapless earth, that ever in orbit roams? Will human ego sacrifice the world To satiate its lust for pompous homes? Will distant space look down on orb that’s bald. I now can hear the mother say, “I was once called Earth. But now , bereft of mirth, I weep. That treeless orb’s no longer Earth”

Let us save the pleanet earth

It’s the still of the dawn

The awakening of a new day

The promise of this day

Such a lovely dawn.

Dark gray and white clouds forming

They are telling a story

To the child who believes

In the song of the nightingale

In the complaints of the cricket

In the race of the ant

In the struggle of all living things

To enjoy and bless this new day.

And through it all we see

The greatness and beauty

The one we are trying so hard

To mar and destroy

This is the only planet we know

The only dawn we can see

The only concept we have of life

Yet unlike the nature

We are keen to destroy

We constantly reject this gift

This lovely grant called life

We introduced technology

Another step for civilization

This is the year 2002

But we still failed our mission

To turn humans into beings

Who feel as one with the universe

And all living forms

We failed to uproot greed and hatred

We failed to eradicate narrow mentalities

We failed to find the ways

To preserve the planet

Only found means to destroy it.

The only thing we succeeded in

Is to create more greedy humans

More destructive natures

More hatred and destruction

More vengeance and wars

More victims of the vicious circle

When will we stop and look around

To see the utmost gift we all have

Been given the miracle of life

By a planet that never failed us

The Sun, that never stops rising

The Moon and the stars

That are always there for us

The oceans, seas and rivers

The nature, unconditionally producing

But we over and over again

Failed its expectations.

Failed the expectations of our universe

And its Creator.

The Growth of 1960s Hippie Fashion

Hippies (derived from the word hipster) were the natural outgrowth of the Beat movement in the 1960s Interested in an alternative lifestyle and rebelling against a society grown increasingly conformist and repressive.  They were focused on freedom and getting back to nature and natural living. Their clothing was often loose and colourful, were possible, made of natural fibers like cotton and hemp. Men and women grew their hair long and eschewed products and fussy styling. The black turtlenecks and trousers worn by the Beatniks, male and female, morphed into Hippie peasant blouses and jeans adorned with flowers. Anything handmade, whether sewn, knit or woven as macramé, was hip. Gradually, this extended towards dyeing one's own clothes and the colorful tie-dye style became popular.
